Hi!
I'm a relative newbie to Linux.
I've recently installed RedHat Linux 7.3 on my IBM Thinkpad T20 and
think it is generally very good, however I still have problems getting
the mouse-wheel to work. I've browsed the net and tried all sorts of settings.
I have a standard Microsoft Intellimouse 1.1A PS/2 scroll-mouse.
Here is what happens:
In /etc/X11/XF86Config the following was written by the installer:
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"

This makes the mouse work, but without the scroll-wheel.

I then tried to change it to the following as many sources suggest:

Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"

makes the mouse-pointer go around like crazy. In other words, it doesn't work at all.

I've also tried "intellimouse" for the protocol, but that didn't work either.

Please help me before I erase Linux for good.
